"Faith"

"There was a time that I was living alone for many years. My dad had left to go overseas for work and I was left to take care of his house while he was gone. Years and years went by and I had to find a way to cope with the solitude. I began to read a lot and found myself in my own spiritual world with daily battles but also daily blessings. This painting is an echo of that time in my life. The girl is in prayer, an inscent carries her prayers to God. The skull represents contemplation of life and death. A Bible represents life after death and the snake that is shrouded in darkness represents the choice of sin that is always readily available to make, while an angel has descended to bring the word of God."
